Hanging…virtually with Stephanie Sutton

Chatting over zoom with Stephanie Sutton does make me wish I had started Pilates earlier in life…but actually I did. Yes I had forgotten those hazy London days where I dipped in and out of pilates classes.

I just didn’t keep them up. Until now.

There is nothing like menopause to make you realise how much our bodies appreciate some stretching and toning. Those small reminders when you cough or sneeze that hey hoo your pelvic region is not as fine tuned as it used to be!

Be honest now…we have all experienced that at some stage. Haven’t we? I certainly have…

So over time I have learnt so much about the importance of those exercises to benefit your core - yoga, pilates, tai chi - some of the key ones.

Stephanie Sutton has that ‘pilates body’ and moves effortlessly through lessons. She makes it easy, she works with many women in perimenopause and she tailors her classes to suit each women. We are individual (thankfully) after all.

You can listen below to Steph chatting with me about the benefits of pilates - if you have not tried it please do give it a go! No better time than now.

Not sure I could hang so effortlessly from the bars as Steph does…maybe we should all aim for this pose...
